Growing up, Rob spent most weekends at the wharf watching his father manage the team at the transport and storage company he worked at, teaching him the foundations of great leadership and the importance of culture.
Passionate about business, Rob decided to pursue a degree in Accounting at Victoria University and landed several financial roles across the major Australian organisations News Corporation, Peter MacCallum Institute and the Australian Wheat Board.
A few years later, Rob was selected by SMS Management & Technology for a consultancy role where he led a practice and worked alongside the CEO in the area of relationship management.
During his 9 year stint he helped the company achieve significant growth, most of which was attributed to the strength of the culture within the organisation.
This experience inspired Rob to learn more about leadership and gain a deeper understanding of what it takes to build a great company culture.
Not long after he was head hunted by Oppeus International for the role of Strategic Leadership Advisor, becoming a client partner and part owner in just a few short years.
He then went on to lead a team of senior managers at Ernst & Young as a Director of Performance Improvement across the health, transport and defence industries.
After serving over 30 years in the corporate world, gaining a lifetime of experience and passionate about developing the next generation of leaders, Rob felt like it was finally time to venture out on his own.
That’s when he founded Propelling Performance. A boutique leadership advisory firm working with mid-tier leaders to increase profitability through strategic action and high performance teams.
Rob’s personalised one to one executive coaching, organisational coaching of leadership team, public workshops and keynote presentations help to solve the common challenges Senior Executives face in driving growth and performance, building value in their business and, in the process, making it easier to manage.
